- Condition New: No more than 5 lines or words of handwriting/highlighting on entire textbook, no obvious bremishes, pages are crips with

- Condition Fair: Some handwriting or highlighting on book, some obvious bremishes, pages are crips with no torned or missing pages.
- Condition Poor: Handwriting or highlighting are very obvious, some obvious bremishes, some torned pages and no more than 3 missing pages.
Any thing fit below the Condition Poor is not recommended to be listed on Collegetext. It is recommended to put the condtion of your text on
your listing. The more information you put on the listing, the more likely you will be contacted by a potential buyer.
For accounting students, please use straight line depreciation on your book.
Get the book life cycle by estimating when your professor will phase out your
current edition of the text.
For non-accounting students, straight line depreication is a simple way to figure out how much your book has depreicated. The recommended
formula for textbook straight line depreciation is Price = current value - (current value / book life cycle in terms)
* number of term(s) used
Subtract 10% from the price if book condition is fair.
Subtract 30% from the price if book condition is poor.
For example: If your book is 50 bucks brand new; you used it for 1 semester; the book contion is fair; and you expect the book to last 5 terms
before your professor switch book. Your price of your book will be is $50 - ($50/5) * 1 = $40 - $4 (10% as
fair condition) = $36 as your final price.
Ofcourse, this is only a suggested pricing option. You are free to use any method to price your book. Remember to give a discount to your fellow
students, or you will defeat the purpose of this site. If you priced too high, you will discourage buyer. Without buyer, there's no sellers.
